The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday said that re-polling at 43 polling stations of NA-250 (Karachi) would be held on May 19. Amid allegations of rigging, polling was halted at 43 polling stations on May 11. A senior ECP official told The News that the colour of the ballot papers for the National Assembly’s constituency will be white while that of the provincial assembly seats green. On May 11, green ballot papers were used for the NA seats while white for the PA seats.
The NA-250’s polling stations where re-polling will be conducted are: 4, 7, 11, 48, 52, 56, 57, 58, 60, 62, 78, 97, 98, 100, 101, 104, 106, 109, 110, 113, 114, 115, 117, 121, 122, 131, 135, 136, 137, 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 148, 165, 168, 175, 177, 179, 180, 157.
The re-polling will include areas of the Sindh Assembly’s PS-112 and PS-113 seats. Re-polling will be held under the military’s supervision. Meanwhile, the ECP continued receiving politicians from different political parties with complaints about the alleged rigging in the general election, as the phase of official results announcement nears end.
